For many of us the winter can be tough. Cold and dreary can make our mental health take a hit.

One powerful way to fight off the winter blues is to lean into your friendships. Keeping friends and close confidants can help you be more satisfied with your life and less likely to suffer from mental health afflictions like depression (Choi, K. W., et al., The American Journal of Psychiatry, Vol. 177, No. 10, 2020).

Check in with your friends. Bring music into your relationships and share your favorite songs. Even sing to each other! (You can blast the music if you are worried about your singing voice.)

If you need a song to get you started, check out “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

It is the ultimate friendship song!

Then pick out your favorite lyrics and send them to your bestie. 💜
