Research! Music Therapy and Depression in Women

The Journal of Affective Disorders is releasing a new article on music therapy in April looking at the effects of group music therapy on depressive symptoms in women. The results are really exciting!

Here are the highlights:

  • Music therapy offers cost-effective intervention to treat depression.

  • Music therapy group yielded immediate health-promoting effects

  • Quality of life, emotion, and mood regulation improved through music therapy

While none of this is a surprise to us (we’ve been seeing the impressive effects of music therapy on mental health for many years), it is always thrilling to see more and more research supporting music therapy!
