In Tune with Marlys Woods, M.S., MFTI, MT-BC

Marlys Woods is a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) with a Masters in Clinical Psychology providing Music Therapy services throughout Orange County. She has been involved in music through performance her entire life.

Since 2012, Marlys has worked at a number of facilities ranging from the hospital settings, developmentally disabled adults and children, military and hospice with an emphasis on Substance Abuse facilities throughout Southern California.

Marlys utilizes music as a tool to contribute to the education, therapeutic change and emotional expression of each client in their recovery program, utilizing a variety of drums, guitar, voice, creative arts, lyric analysis, song writing and relaxation techniques.

Marlys is passionate about using her knowledge of relationships, people and music to help those struggling with addiction. Due to what Marlys has seen result wise, she believes this is an integral part of addiction recovery and so it is Marlys’ intention to expand music therapy services to as many people as possible.

Minimum requirements:
MT-BC or have proof of intent to take board exam.

Sufficient experience working with individuals in addiction treatment and mental health disorders. Experience in other populations will be taken into consideration.

Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable vehicle.

CPR certification and Professional liability insurance will be needed to start.

Description of Position:
Get In Tune seeks innovative and creative music therapists that are dedicated to improving the lives of adolescents and adults with addiction and/or mental health diagnoses. This position involves providing group and individual music therapy services to adolescents, and adults in addiction treatment centers. This position involves traveling to a variety of facilities throughout Southern California area concentrating in the Greater Orange County Area

Schedule: Part Time – hours are flexible, but may include afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Applicant should be able to be flexible with scheduling.  Position may grow to full-time.

Compensation: Competitive and based upon experience.
